WELCOME | Welcome to the 25th season of the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra. Our 2008-2009 season showcases 175 young musicians representing over 60 public, private and home schools. We are very proud of these accomplished students for successfully completing the challenging audition process as well as their commitment to attend weekly rehearsals. This season we are pleased to welcome back Mr. Joseph Kreines as Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Thomas Silliman as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Concert Orchestra, and Mrs. Linda Woodrich and Mrs. Maureen Baldino as Conductor and Interim Conductor of the String Ensemble assisted by Ms. Jillian Picco. This season is full of possibilities for all three Orchestras and enjoyment for you, our audience. Once again, we welcome you and thank you for supporting the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra. |

| Music is universal. It has the ability to excite the human spirit, stimulate the imagination and touch the soul. The Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra experience engages a student’s intellect through musical instruction, weekly rehearsal and major performances. The BSYO is the only non-profit organization in Brevard County in a unique position to offer the youth of Brevard an opportunity to reach their musical potential. There are numerous benefits derived from being a part of the BSYO and some of our students will become professional musicians, however all will become a part of tomorrow's educated classical musical audience |
BOARD OF DIRECTORS Throughout our 24 years of providing orchestral level repertoire for the youth of Brevard, the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra has been honored by the outstanding dedication of some special community leaders who have served tirelessly on its Board of Directors. Board Members volunteer their time, talent and resources to ensure the continuation and development of this unique musical opportunity. These individuals in collaboration with other volunteers make it possible to keep this extraordinary tradition alive |
