A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    As we enter our 23^rd year of providing an exceptional educational and musical experience for the youth of Brevard County, we look forward with our plans and visions for the BSYO.  Enhanced programs and additional opportunities for our students means growth for the BSYO. I encourage each and every one of you to participate in some capacity. I promise, you will get back much more than you ever expect.

   For me every day brings a deeper respect and appreciation for the BSYO; our students and their amazing talent and dedication, our board for their devotion, energy and the wisdom they share, and our conductors whom are truly unbelievable in their skills to shape and develop these orchestras. As we celebrate and reflect on twenty-two years as an orchestra, we  acknowledge all the individuals and partners who have made us great. 

  We thank our financial supporters; the corporations, corporations, foundations. government agencies, and individuals who continue to partner with us and help to ensure our continuation.  Alongside these financial partners are school music teachers, string consultants, and private music teachers who give their talents and their time all year long challenging students to reach for that next level of musical excellence. 

   The backbone of the BSYO, our silent heroes, are the many volunteers who work quietly and consistently behind the scenes.  Our orchestra managers attend every rehearsal and tend to the endless stream of details and questions with poise and efficiency, our local musicians step in to help,  numerous parent volunteers work continually at a myriad of tasks and the Board of Directors work to shape the future of this organization while overseeing its current operation.  Everything we do is supported by our volunteers.     

   The foresight of several community organizations laid the foundation in 1984 for the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra and their support is unwavering.  The Brevard County Schools and Brevard Community College offer us rehearsal space and continue to encourage our work and promote our programs within their music communities. The Brevard Symphony Orchestra continues to share their wealth of artistic and administrative resources. 

   And finally as we look towards the promise of the future we thank everyone who has contributed in so many ways to the growth, development and the quality of music experience for our students in the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra.  Join us for an exciting year.
