Any student wishing to join the BSYO must audition. To register for auditions, please complete the application brochure and return to the BSYO office with a $15 non-refundable application by May 16, 2008. Applications postmarked after this date must include a $5 late fee. Applicants will be notified of their audition time by mail after May 16, 2008. We are proud of the opportunity we offer talented musicians to expand their skills while studying challenging repertoire with a peer group that has attained the same level of expertise and talent. Students perform frequently throughout the academic year and travel periodically. BSYO students also participate in several community-based musical projects each season. Any student wishing join the BSYO must audition. The BSYO currently has openings for advanced brass, woodwind and percussion players. String Players are also strongly encouraged to apply. Please contact the BSYO office for audition information and materials. The BSYO currently has three orchestras for students of differing ages and abilities: String Ensemble under the direction Linda Woodrich for students with some experience on their instruments and basic note-reading ability. Concert Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Thomas Silliman for students who are proficient on their instrument wishing to gain orchestral experience. Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Kreines for advanced students wishing to perform challenging orchestral literature. | ||||
