  Q1: How many orchestras are there?

A: The Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra has three performing groups:

Q2: What are the requirements for membership?

Students desiring to join the BSYO must:

  • Successfully complete the audition process
  • Participate in their school music program
  • Pay applicable fees
  • Adhere to BSYO attendance and behavior policies.

Q3: What is the age range of members?

A: BSYO members range in age from elementary school students to seniors in high school.

Q4: How much is the tuition?

A: Tuition rates are set annually by the Board of Directors.  Contact the BSYO office for current tuition rates for each performing group.

Q5: When and where are rehearsals held?

A: Regular rehearsals are held on Monday evenings throughout the school year and alternate between locations in Melbourne and Cocoa.

A: Q6: How often do the groups perform?

Each group performs three main concerts each season:  Fall, Winter and Spring.  Additional concerts may be scheduled during the season, especially during the holidays.
