MEMBERSHIP

We are proud of the opportunity we offer talented musicians to expand their skills while studying challenging repertoire with a peer group that has attained the same level of expertise and talent. Students perform frequently throughout the academic year and travel periodically. BSYO students also participate in several community-based musical projects each season.

Students desiring to join the BSYO must:

• successfully complete the audition process
• participate in their school music program on instrument to be played with the BSYO
• pay applicable fees
• adhere to BSYO attendance and behavior policies.

The BSYO currently has three orchestras for students of differing ages and abilities:

String Ensemble under the direction Linda Woodrich for students with some experience on their instruments and basic note-reading ability.

Concert Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Thomas Silliman for students who are proficient on their instrument wishing to gain orchestral experience.

Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Kreines for advanced students wishing to perform challenging orchestral literature.
